Hello everyone,
Hope you are all enjoying the summer now that the warm weather has finally arrived!
Last month I was painting in the area where I reside (HRM), as part of the Parrsboro Plein Air Festival in ISOLATION. It was certainly something new for most of us (and personally out of my comfort zone), as we had to film ourselves before the event and while we were painting. It was great learning and seeing where everyone was painting from, hearing their stories and slowly watch some of the painting emerge. I think the organizers did an excellent job!
Here's the link if you'd like to see the final results or learn more about the artists, judges, organizers....: https://parrsborocreative.com/pleinair/pipaf-in-isolation/
An unusual thing also happened to me while painting during this event, which I have never experienced before. I sometimes tap my brush on a roll of toilet paper (instead of a sponge...), to remove extra moisture, but this time I started to notice little bits (of what I first thought was pigment or old paint), all over my painting. I finally realized it was the toilet paper which had started to disintegrate! Too funny really... leave it to a COVID event to make me aware that not all toilet paper is created equally:)! Hope you are all doing well, staying safe and thanks for visiting my blog!
